• Sager - Good Deal or Scam?

Well I've been looking for a good gaming laptop, and I kept getting pointed towards Asus (I know they are a great company). I pretty much had my mind set until I was grocery shopping and found a laptop magazine with the "Sager" in it. They had gaming models from 799$-2199$ and I found a 1000$ model that looks really nice. Specs are pretty much the same as the Asus I was going to get, but I'm wondering if anybody has had any experience with Sager and can give me some background info? Reliable? Good/bad customer support? Good/bad hardware?
My buddy has a Sager and while it has some beefy specs the build quality is pretty mediocre for such an expensive piece of equipment. Stuff like plastic hinge covers breaking, silly rubber feet easily come off, screen not firmly staying open/loose and wobbly, etc, didn't exactly impress me. I have an Asus myself and I haven't had any problems like that. I'd look into some proper reviews on the exact model you're looking at though.
I've had one for a little over 2 years now, and I love it. I'd definitely recommend getting one. They can be more expensive than other laptops, but they're really easy to service and clean. Mine has one really big panel on the bottom that you can unscrew, which gives you access to almost the entire insides, so it's really easy to dust and whatnot. I have the NP5793 with a matte 17" screen at 1920x1200. It has a T9300 Core2Duo, 4gb's of RAM, a 512mb Geforce 9800M GTS, and a 320gb HDD. Oh and a bluray drive. Sagers are known to be the most powerful laptops for your dollar, they run on the Clevo base model laptops, which are some of the worlds most powerful ones. The only true competitor it has in terms of power is Alienware, however those are overpriced and heat up a lot. Also Asus' can be a good alternative, but still Sager has more bang per buck, while Asus has better build quality for almost the same price.
