• Are Hot Dogs a Sandwich?

Hot dogs are a sandwich according to most people. If you disagree, what lies have you been fed? Also up for debate: Pizza Tacos Calzones Quesadillas I believe all of those are also sandwiches.
They're tacos
I concur, they're either tacos or hotdogs. A hamburguer is also a sandwich, but pizza and quesadillas are not. Calzone is up for debate.
Hotdogs are a subset of soft roll. Rolls are bread. A sandwich is two slices of bread with some form of filling. Therefore a hotdog is a sandwich. Pizza and calzones are not made of bread so they are not sandwiches, but they are similar. I don't know if a taco is a sandwich as the shell is made of corn, but cornbread is a thing, it muddies the water. I don't know what a quesadilla is, despite having heard of them many times.
Even if they were tacos, they'd still be a sandwich. Pizza is an open faced sandwich. It seems many of you eggs fail to know the PROPER definition of sandwich. A sandwich does not require two pieces of bread
a pizza is a subset of a pie, do you consider pies to be sandwiches?
There is no pastry crust so it is not a pie. Also how is pizza dough not bread? It's literally flour, water, salt, olive oil, and yeast. The same ingredients in Italian bread.
A pizza is not a sandwich because a sandwich is a container, hence the requirement for two slices of bread, or a slice of bread folded around something. A slice of bread with jam on top is not a sandwich, neither is a pizza. I will concede that a calzone is probably a sandwich, in that it is just a folded pizza.
There is no pastry crust so it is not a pie. Also how is pizza dough not bread? It's literally flour, water, salt, olive oil, and yeast. A slice of bread with something on top, is called an "Open Faced Sandwich." These are not new inventions. Open faced sandwiches are just as much a sandwich as a closed one. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_sandwich A sandwich only requires two things: Bread (singular) and filling/topping

Pizza is more akin to a Toast. [edit : Or as we call them in my country, "Tartine" ] Hotdogs are sandwiches, because Hotdogs bun are baguette shaped, and you can make a sandwich with those.
I will kill anyone who say it isn't
Toast with just butter and jam on it is a sandwich as well.
If you asked for a ham sandwich and someone gave you a hot dog, would you be confused? Language is for communication. Just because something could technically fit in the broadest possible definition of a word doesn't mean you wouldn't be an asshole if you used the word like that in a typical conversation.
Okay. But you're saying, they're technically sandwiches right? All I need to know.
They're technically sandwiches
Y'all motherfuckers need Jesus
Okay. But you're saying, they're technically sandwiches right? All I need to know.
No. A broad definition is just a shit definition.
a sandwich involves buns pizza doesnt involve buns, its not a sandwich.
Please refer to the dictionary above before leaving an comment, thank you
Please refer to the dictionary above before leaving an comment, thank you
i disagree with that dictionary.
Please refer to the dictionary above before leaving an comment, thank you
So, since an instrument is defined as a tool used to produce music, and music is defined as: I could beat a hot-dog against a surface so that the hot-dog is making a mechanical rhythmical sound. Therefore, a hotdog is not a sandwich but and instrument.
A burger is a sandwich

I'm hungru
A burger is a sandwich
But if you don't cut the bun all the way, then it's clearly a taco.
a sandwich consisting of a frankfurter in a split roll, usually eaten with mustard, sauerkraut, or relish
It's a sandwich, it's a piece of meat between two pieces of bread.
Of all the logic my perfectionist ass wishes this world had, this matters the least.
It's a Butty
If pizza is a vegetable then a hotdog is a fruit.
