How do I stop HP MediaSmart from controlling stuff like volume levels and wifi connection?
Ever since I've had my computer, the volume controls will start freaking out and rapidly change the bass/treble levels, which pops up the volume overlay, which will sometimes minimize games and always disables control of windows under the overlay.
My wifi will also shut itself off and on, for whatever reason.
A couple months ago, I deleted the MediaSmart files and rebooted, which stopped it from controlling volume, but still caused wifi to glitch.
Recently, it came back (I don't know how, there aren't even any files for it to be in), and is doing exactly the same stuff as last time.

Block the process with your anti virus
What's the process called?
I don't see it.
I don't know, I just thought there would be some HP one running in the background since it's controlling stuff.
I had it with my laptop, just uninstall them from control panel, MediaSmart isn't driver for that hotkeys, it won't affect at all
As soon as I got my HP laptop, I got rid of all the HP proprietary crapware it comes with. It usually does nothing, anyway.
You can try disabling it from StartUp before uninstalling it. You can either go to Run (start menu) -> msconfig and go to the "Startup" tab or use CCleaner.
If you go to the control panel there should be an icon labeled Auto Play - there you can select what happens when you put DVDs or BluRay Discs in.
