Preety cool that they care about the console port too, but it still brings the same question as the Minecraft port: Why play it on the console when you can play it on the PC and have mods and other goodies?

because sometimes people don't have good computers? because sometimes they want to play on a big screen? because sometimes they want to play split screen with their friend on the couch? there are a million reasons. because they simply want to play it on their console and not their PC?

Me and my friends played Minecraft on Xbox because we didn't have to hassle with handling servers and we could just simply start a game and invite each other into one.
However when we got computers capable of playing games at a decent speed then we moved onto the PC version.

I don't know if you know this, but I can hook my computer up to a TV screen and wirelessly use a controller on it, I can use 4 on the same single receiver
in fact

you can do split screen as well on the PC. You basically can have 4 player splitscreen on a TV via a computer or a console, doesn't matter, same shit. If you have a medium or high end PC you can have 2 screens and 4 people on each, as well as mods.
and there aren't a "Million" reasons either, aside from not having the money for an OK pc. Custom PC's aren't even that expensive anyways.
Besides, you can also use a keyboard and mouse as well on the PC version, or a game pad, or even a ps3 controller, or motion control.

The thing is that, unlike Minecraft, Terraria is actually worth it withouth mods. Also, not everyone likes playing with a mouse, and since terraria is a 2d game it doesn't really suffer from the loss, I guess.

Terraria is also really fun if you have friends, which is why split screen sells. Especially when terraria's server stuff is kinda wonky.

Android Minecraft is getting an infinite world. I'm sure the consoles will too, eventually.

Is it really impossible to grasp for some people that some folks just prefer playing games on a console?
Is it really impossible to grasp for some people that some folks just prefer playing games on a console?
that's not the point though. You can do the same stuff on a console as you can on the PC
besides that, for the longest time I've been playing on both consoles and computers with my second monitor just set as the console and PC on the first. I know what it's like to be a console and PC user.
you can use a controller on a PC at a TV, and you can even use a keyboard and mouse on an xbox and on a computer monitor http://www.polygon.com/2013/12/10/5195718/this-device-lets-you-use-a-mouse-keyboard-other-console-controllers
so to say "because sometimes they want to play on a big screen? with a controller, and split screen" is pretty stupid. That's an advantage of both (Albeit split screens way less common but yeah)
people use consoles because why bother buying and building a PC, they are cheap, nice, straight forward and very effective
people use PC because it's powerful, and can do many things better than a console but may need a little more tinkering, and aren't actually all that pricey.
now if only more game devs realized this and more of them would make better ports, like Terraria's devs (I'm looking at you Notch)
besides that, split screen across 2 screens can't be done on an xbox, and many games still are locked at 30 fps / 720 res

that and with PC version you need to buy the reciever seperate for 18-24$ so controllers will cost even more
so many pros and cons to both really
aren't there like, at best, 5-8 mods for terraria anyways?

Actually there's a lot of them: http://www.terrariaonline.com/forums/released-mods.51/
It's just that the game is already pretty complete on it's own, so people don't really look much into it, also Starbound is on it's way, so many that played Terraria already moved to that game.

what the fuck
if your computer sucks so much you can't play terraria you're stupid for buying a console

On some games, yes. I have never understood why people play Bethesda games on a console for a starter. Mods are such a huge part of those games.
There are mods out there for LITERALLY every person, even if you hate mods.
