You tried using the regular A/V cable?
I'm hearing a rumor that the HDMI port on the back of the PS3 is not hot pluggable (you should not unplug or plug in an HDMI cable while the system is turned on) but that's just a rumor.
Edit: Oh, I forgot that you EU fools have SCART which plugs into the A/V port. Looke like the system was rough handled too much.
Edit: what he said.
Plug the scart in then hold the power button until you hear some beeps and the video settings are reset.
Sorry I can't remember how many beeps it makes but try this
Awesome im gonna try that

So the scart cabel works now. but the quality is so much better with the HDMI, any way to fix that?

i ment anyway to get the hdmi to work*
Same way, Plug in HDMI and hold it again on startup.
I'll stick by the rule if you have to ask if it's broken then it usually is.
Fail blarg, it aint broken. just told you that the scart works, but the size of my TV fucks the quality up

Holdig powerbutton down while starting does not fix the problem, though it worked on the scartcable
Buy a new HDMi cable. Preferably a shielded one.
Might help, ima gonna call support tomorrow.
