So basically the title describes the problem I'm having. Since the new SILK codecs for steam were released, when ever I receive a chat message from someone on my friends list, steam will make my sound quieter (as if you went to sound options in windows and changed it). Like I've mentioned It's only been happening since the SILK codecs were implemented. To fix this I need to reboot my computer. I've tried unplugging / replugging my headphones back in and occasionally it will work but this is only after 7-8 attempts with the same and different USB slots.
Also, it's as if everything else running goes quiet. Steam is still the same volume as it would be if the problem never happened.
I'm running Windows 7 64bit.
edit: fuck, spelt quite instead of quiet
You tried setting this to do nothing?
