I have a friend who is finally home for the holidays, And he's trying to find a laptop for at least $500 Dollars that could give him a little push in the direction he's looking for.
Standard work processing and the such, Photo Editing and Watching Movies.
He wants to be able to do slight gaming, He's been telling me he wants to play games like Starcraft 2. I figure that a decent system could net him a playable system running Low/Med.
I've did a bit of searching and thread diving and I found some good deals. But a majority of the laptops are in the $1,000 Range for anything "Hardcore" when I'm looking for something for "An Average Gamer".
Any ideas FP?
So far I already came down to the required parts.
At least a Dual Core processor would be enough. I'm not so sure about how well a basic laptop integrated graphics set could work with gaming. What do you guys suggest?

Not sure which is exactly better, will wait for other opinions. They should run StarCraft 2 at medium at full resolution. Though I think the ASUS laptop should be better. Also I suggest saving up a little bit more ($600) for this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834146853

I'm pretty sure the second one will be better. Dual core 2.20 versus a single core 2.00. Also Mobility Radeon HD 4250 versus Intel HD integrated GPU.

Didn't notice the ASUS only had one core

Regardless of that, never choose an Intel GPU over ATI or Nvidia.

Nvidia don't make GPUs.
Also, get the ASUS G60VX Recertified. It has an amazing GPU (GTX 260m) and a decent processor (2.13 GHz Dual Core), and 6GB DDR2 1066MHz RAM.

It's on Newegg (I think) and TigerDirect and Circuit City.

Edited: Ninja'd.
Nevermind, 4GB RAM. Still plenty.

You meant "Graphics card" but not "GPU"
Nevermind. I thought he said "Never pick an Intel CPU over Nvidia or ATI.", so I was really confused.
