The first Android-powered smartphones were sold in Q1 2009, and has since grown to become the biggest smartphone operating system: The Android Story Official Android device gallery XDA Developer Forums Google Play store CyanogenMod Website http://goo.im/gapps /r/Android on Reddit How to go on Facepunch on your Android phone Glossary: Android Open Source Project (AOSP) - The untouched Android from Google, where full source is available.
what the fuck kind of OP is that [editline]13th September 2012[/editline] whoop never mind I thought the previous threads had an OP carry on
If there's anything you want me to put on the OP, I'll post it. The discussion on the previous thread version which can be found here. We were talking about music player apps for Android and how we love our music.
Back in the old thread I asked about the Galaxy Note II screen but never got an answer. Because I'm an idiot I didn't understand the Galaxy Note II at first but I do now. OK so when you look at the screen you see a stripe of all blue and a stripe of alternating red/green. It is indeed a 1280x720 RGB AMOLED. What Samsung did is make the blue subpixel a long vertical one and the red/green are two slightly smaller ones perpendicular to it. So by making the blue OLED larger they've tried to balance out the lifetime and brightness on a high PPI AMOLED panel and if they have it set to calibrate white balance correctly it should be quite a nice display to use. Not exactly a great display for accurate pictures, but it's definitely a big improvement like the S II was to the original S. [editline]13th September 2012[/editline] http://www.theverge.com/2012/8/29/3277222/galaxy-note-ii-subpixels-arrangement This thread about it is cringeworthy, people arguing about whether or not an RGB arrangement is RGB because the shapes aren't all straight lines. These people should be banned from talking about screens.
why would anyone want flac when it's pointless @last post in last thread
why would anyone want flac when it's pointless @last post in last thread
My Tron Legacy soundtrack @ 320Kbps sounds more...hollow? Than the FLAC one. I've done one of those blind test things with the phone on shuffle and it was still apparent. But from what I understand that's almost guaranteed to be the MP3 ones encoded poorly and not the FLAC actually being audibly better.
Is $150 a good price for a slightly used LG Optimus 2X?
Is $150 a good price for a slightly used LG Optimus 2X?
I thought you said $250 before. Yah $150 is pretty good but since you live in Canadia you can't expect official ICS. Not that you'd want to keep it on LG firmware anyway. It may be stock looking, but it's not stock feeling.

hey dudes, my app (for both phones and tablets) is coming out later today! unfortunately, a lot of emulators don't support file assocation/opening files outside of the app itself, so n64 emulators don't work (which really really sucks). stuff like NES, SNES, gameboy, genesis, and hopefully more work! i'll let you dudes know when it's out. it'll be free! :D
For the ones that don't you could just launch the app so it's not completely useless for those.
why would anyone want flac when it's pointless @last post in last thread
I hear more "depth" in the music with FLAC. It's like how 320MP3 has more depth than 128MP3.
For the ones that don't you could just launch the app so it's not completely useless for those.
tis a good idea. maybe!
I use FLAC on my phone because I'm too lazy to convert it :v: I have FLAC files anyways because that means I can store the CDs in the loft/attic and forget about then. Archiving purposes!
i just use spotify

But I don't really need ICS right now. But if LG ever releases ICS officially, I'll be able to flash that on a Canadian phone, right? It'll still be a P990.
pls change title for minimum head up own arseness i finally turned off the 'quick reply' thing on my phone, got so annoying
Yeah, I'm monitoring the development; is CM7 stable? I know CM9/10 isn't; there's no hardware acceleration. But I don't really need ICS right now. I think the anger was the fact that it is the same damn phone so them not releasing it is just being a horrible company with no software support at all. You should confirm that though, I only know about Wind's network, not their phones. It is a Wind phone after all.
Actually the Wind phone is a P999; I'd be getting the Fido version (P990).
Actually the Wind phone is a P999; I'd be getting the Fido version (P990).
Oh I'm stupid, I didn't even know Fido ever got it. Not sure how that slipped past me, my apologies.
Yeah, Fido is pretty crappy when it comes to phone selection though; the 2X is actually the best phone they have right now that has microSD slot.
I want to root my thunderbolt so I can get ICS. Where do I start and what do I need to know?
I want to root my thunderbolt so I can get ICS. Where do I start and what do I need to know?
Check out XDA-Developers and search for your device.
Yeah, Fido is pretty crappy when it comes to phone selection though; the 2X is actually the best phone they have right now that has microSD slot.
My uncle had years worth of Fido Dollars saved up and the best he could get was an HTC Desire C and he had enough to just get three of em and cancel. Sold em for like $100 each.
I have a problem that you gents might be able to help me out with. My dad has an S3, but whenever he holds the phone against his face to make calls he ends up pushing the screen with his cheek, pushing random buttons. Any suggestions? I thought something like turning the screen off automatically while in a call would be under settings.

Sounds like it's not functioning right.
Worst thread title and op ever
