• 1080p monitor for 130-140 USD?

Title explains all. I'm currently using a monitor that is ages old, is 5:4 and has horrendous motion blur with darks. I got some money recently and decided I deserve an upgrade from this shit, especially since PlanetSide 2's FoV slider is for vertical FoV and not horizontal and I feel this puts me at a serious disadvantage, game-wise. I did a bit of research and found a few that seem good. I'd prefer to use the old monitor as a secondary display, so a monitor with HDMI or DisplayPort input would reduce frustration and need for HDMI-VGA (:v:) adapters. Anything is really fine, though. Thoughts? [editline]27th October 2013[/editline] My current monitor supports DVI and VGA input, btw.
They all are good monitors with pretty similar specs, but the Acer will have a deeper color contrast as it is 100,000,000:1 and the Asus is 50,000,000 with the HP coming in last at 1,000,000:1.
Thanks for the info. I have heard that contrast ratios are mainly marketing bs, though?
They do use it for marketing, but if you put those three monitors side by side, you will see the color depth difference.
Cool, then. Looks like I'll get the Acer.
Look into AOC, they make some really nice monitors and they do have 1080p monitors from $100 - $150.

I got this monitor for my build. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0098Y77U0/ref=oh_details_o03_s01_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I like it, it's 23" and 1920x1080 Now in the pictures it shows an HDMI port, but it doesn't. Which isn't a big deal, well at least to me.
I will, thanks. [editline]28th October 2013[/editline] http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=24-160-070 Any good?
It's all up to you man. It does look good, but then again, this is your build. I didn't have to buy a monitor since I already had a SONY 32" LED TV. I only suggested it because my friend bought AOC and those monitors don't only look nice but they have some beautifully designed monitors. If I ever was going to get a new monitor, I would choose AOC.
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-075-IY&groupid=17&catid=949 This monitor looks great for your price range, intact this is the one I'm intending to purchase. The response time, 2ms. Just wow👌.
I've got 3 of these. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824160163&Tpk=aoc%20e2450swd It's also on sale or something. At $89.00. I've had all 3 for about the same length of time, and had no problems yet. [editline]1[/editline] Oh, deal ends today. 10/30
I hear the ASUS VS series are a bit wobbly, but if that isn't a problem to you then you can consider one. I think the best advice for you would be to showroom some monitors to see how their picture actually looks, and then make an online purchase.
Yeah, I'm going to staples soon to see what they have. My town doesn't have any proper computer stores...
You should consider used. I picked up a third Asus VH226H off ebay for $87 shipped, very nice monitors. Just buy from someone with a good buyer history and you will be fine.
