Nothing outrageous in the actual picture, for anyone who wants to see the totally unsurprising list of things MS thinks would be a good idea to have in a laptop they want you to sell without clicking the article: [thumb]http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/vWzcCxKda3gb7PfY8MnXq7-650-80.jpg[/thumb]
I'd like to see MS push that FHD IPS or better point hard
I'd like to see MS push that FHD IPS or better point hard
I'm less particular about the IPS, but the idea to me that a huge number of laptops are still produced with significantly less than FHD screens is insane. I mean my phone is 1920x1080, why the fuck is the first laptop i clicked on in best buy's laptop section of their website 1366 x 768 :v: ...make that the first two laptops, christ

Also Operating Systems in general needs to focus A LOT MORE on seamless DPI scaling, preferable a type that can also be varied between each program.

How else are you gonna explain how low-end HP laptops are so abundant among the less IT literate? I'm not apologizing for it, but that's the crux of the situation, which leads to OS & program developers postponing proper DPI scaling because why bother. Friends don't let friends buy shitty laptops.

There's no DPI scaling that needs to start happening for it to be viable. DPI scaling is unrelated to 768p panels being included in so many 15" laptops

Let's just say I've had to deal with one once when I worked in the production at a company.
Well yes, obviously the cost is the reason there. I meant everything else you were saying.
Well yes, obviously the cost is the reason there. I meant everything else you were saying.
Because people's eyesight sadly gets shittier with age and with a lower resolution they can read what's on the screen without being at the mercy of nearly non-existant DPI scaling or dealing with often shitty zoom functions. My own dad picked up a 32" 1080P monitor for his own computer so he doesn't have to wear glasses infront of it, som people like the luxury of not having to fiddle with setting while still being able to read small text without crawling into the monitors or putting on their glasses. Also older people often only use their computer for web-browsing and office, so a bottom-end cheap trash one is often what they look for first. Although I'm guilty of enjoying the 768P of my 12" Thinkpad because I'm on the verge of needing glasses fulltime, which means I don't have to deal with that or contacts when using it.
