I received a shitty broken eMachines recently that I'm fixing for my mom. The original owner said he thought the video was just broken. But after purchasing a cheap ($30) graphics card to find that It still doesn't work, I had the bright idea that the graphics in the motherboard wasn't the problem. I realized that the CPU had a bent little gold prong thing. I don't know if I damaged it taking it out but I'm sure that it wasn't getting hot as I took off the fan to see that it would not heat due to usage. Could this be why the video wouldn't display? The power isn't a problem I'm sure. The PC turns on and the DVD drives I put in it work. I'm sure that the motherboard gets power since the power button works and is hooked to the motherboard and the fans run. What do you think FP?
It's hard to take you seriously after you said that you took off the CPU heatsink while the computer was running...
Anyways, if you are not trolling, then your CPU is probably broken, maybe full specs would help.
Just curious, how much did you buy the computer for?
I can't really understand the paragraph that shouldn't be a single paragraph.
If the pin is bent then you need to bend it back?
If you took the heat-sink off you need new thermal paste. If you didn't use any and turned it on you could be fucked.
If the computer is broken I don't think that taking off the heat-sink would help, really unlikely that it'd be inserted wrong.
