It's like Wikisposure, only they destroyed evidence and didn't alert the authorities through the proper channels, and also possibly compromised any undercover activities.
So, it was a stupid idea.

Of course it is, every singe "operation" and everyone needs a fucking Guy Fawkes mask to hide their basement dwelling faces.
I'm just starting to think anon isn't organized at all, and just a bunch of hackers going around hacking everything they possibly can then claiming they are anonymous, in order to increase attention to the hack.
... But then again everybody probably already knew this.

They aren't organized, because it isn't an organization.
It's a group where if you consider yourself a part of it, then you ARE a part of it.
Anonymous: Can't live with them, can't live without them.

But it isn't a V mask, It's Guy Fawkes.
Ok, now hackers went up a notch in my book.
But it's the only occasion so far they did something good IMO.

It's not really that good.
All the images and videos are stored in all the users Harddrives and can easily be put up on different net services.
Claiming that this helps and stops (if only a fraction) of child pornography is like claiming DRM solutions prevents hackers from hacking games.
They'll just move on to a different place and continue as usual (or in the example, just work around the small halt).
Go anonymous!

It's the thought that counts.
It's the thought that counts.
The thought is worth shit if it does more harm than good, which it most likely does in this case.
We are talking about the worst possible crime and violence a human being can do here, it's not something to be threaded on lightly.
It's not without reason that police and any organiation fighting against CP tells people to not investigate in these kind of things themselves, it's not just for the mental health, but because you'll most likely end up doing way more harm than good.
who are the bad guys now?
Anonymous: Can't live with them, can't live without them.
Then how are you alive?
But it isn't a V mask, It's Guy Fawkes.
You just saw my tired self
I understand that they are just trying to do good, but this was horribly unthought.

Experts condemned the attacks, complaining to the BBC that they had no access to their favourite sites.

Actually it's because they fear that this may actually make those who were hosting the content harder to find but whatever.
they may actually have inadvertently put more children at risk through their actions
How
Honestly, this is kind of a bad thing, now the people will make more child porn instead of jerking it to already existing child porn because they can't access it.

I'm pretty sure they just put it up on some new site.
Also I don't think this affects the production at all. They'll always want new stuff like every other human being regard anything at all.
What the fucking christ... I remember the days where anonymous infested sites were filled with CP and jailbait content. What the fuck is going on here.. I think all this Scientology shit brought too much attention to anonymous and now everyone thinks it's a cool new thing. They used to be the school bully of the internet, and people were afraid of them. Now the only few active hackers they have are doing this shit... The internet is changing.

It's not even that. It's everyone. Everyone has their right to anonymity.
They probably had the ability to alert the authorities and probably get a lot of people arrested but I guess I can see why they did it the way they did. Either way that site isn't going to get that many users now and I guess that was enough for them.

It seems like this is a reenactment of the Hell's Angel's rise to media and then their eventual and swift fall from media, becoming mostly a castrated thing of the past; only with a bunch of nerds and child molesters.
