• Windows 7 boot time is longer now

Okay, so usually my laptop boot time is around 2 minutes or so (the time it takes from switch on to the welcome screen). Then, last Saturday, I left my laptop on to stream a movie online. What I didn't realize is that I didn't switch to direct power- didn't plug in the charger, so it died out afterwards. Later, after charging it back up, I boot it up and there was an option to 'resume operating system' and so it came back to exactly how I left it before. However, now whenever I power on the laptop, the boot time is around >10 minutes. (As it loads, the screen remains black while the mouse is visible. I then wait 10 minutes before the welcome screen appears). Any idea whats wrong? Tl;dr: left laptop without direct power, it ran out of juice, when I start it back up it now takes >10 minutes to boot up
Do a disk check
It sounds like it's hibernating, and taking forever and a day to load back into memory.
Or just the sys partition is filled with too much stuff
try memtest32+ (it's free)
start > msconfig > Services > hide all MS services > Disable all
Thanks for the help. I'l get back to you all after I follow the advice.
