Recently Made myself a rig for gaming real cheap, and its the first time iv Come back to NVidia since the Gtx 260 216 core, and my New gtx 580 (not very new I know is rather toasty 51c at 35% fan, I know at 50% it's at roughly 44-45C, is this a safe/good temperature for the 580? if so whats your verdicts on either repasting and getting some new good airflow fans to knock C's down or spending £45 and getting a 3rd party cooler.
As long as you aren't hitting 80+ on a gtx580 you should be fine

GTX580 hitting 80C is perfectly normal.
Cheers for the help, 10 minutes of furmark saw it go to 78-79C and the fan was on about 70-80%
As long as you don't load it 24/7 80C is fine under full load..
79c is fine.
Thanks guys.
My 560 used to run at 75c in most games, overclocked it a little and it was hitting 80c in planet side 2, sounded like my pc was about to take off
