When I got it last year for Christmas, it worked like a charm, moving big ass games to the TB was a nightmare cure, now it is a slow piece of crap. All it does now is takes 20 seconds to load up ALL the folders/files to my screen, THEN loading a folder is a bad mistake because that to will take a billion seconds Oh and transferring files is a mistake, I wanted to create a steam backup so I can wip out steam apps at friends places but it's impossible, .cfg files errors up the process along with other bundles of code Help please FP'ers!
What is the model number etc?
Have you tried formatting or defragmenting?
What is the model number etc?
This is my first time doing it but I found P/N and S/N P/N: WDBAAU0015HBK-00 S/N: WMAVU0633482 Is this it?

Does it feel hot to touch? just curious.. Also defrag it, and how much free space is left? I have about 100gb left on a 1tb and I get this
All it does now is takes 20 seconds to load up ALL the folders/files to my screen
Though mine takes closer to 10 seconds,
Sorry for bump! I have defrag'd it and tested it out on a lenvo laptop, seems like the lenvo is still having the same problem with reading the drive, so does this mean the hard-drive is done for?
Format it to (everything on it will be gone tough) Btw is this one of those Hdd's that have 2 usb plugs or a power plug that looks like an Svideo cable? Because they run slower if they dont get enough voltage.
