Right now I'm really confused between getting an Alienware or having a custom desktop. I know how that Alienwares are a bit pricy but I don't know how to build a computer.
Help??
Custom build a great PC and use the money you saved by not buying an alienware on hookers and blow.
Dude a toddler could build a computer. Its like lego but with custopm snap ons.

Haha, rofl. Are you serious? Or are you being a troll?
Save money, and custombuild if you want something worth the work. Alienware is bad quality, and it's Dell. Dell is bad. Unreliable.
If I'm not mistaken you have to assemble a custom computer yourself, and I'm nearly sure if he can't order the parts he won't be able to assemble it. No offense, I couldn't either.
Custom.

Just google "how to build a computer", tons of tutorials out there.
Spend that money on powerful custom built pc.
Alienware is like mac, but runs on windows.
And FP can help with any problems you might run into.
broke automerge

:smug: Learn it, kiddo.
There's something called google.

assuming you have limbs and have the mental capacity to stop yourself chewing on the parts, you're good to go

Just that MAC is only overpriced because of the screens whilst Alienware is overpriced because of everything.
Alienware is fucking retarded. I do not understand why people buy those computers?
alienware m11x is a nice lappy, in the defence of alienware. dont get an alienware desktop tho.
If you have a fuck ton of money to blow then buy an Alienware, why not? It's not bad quality. Just not worth the price for most of us. It doesn't really make sense to get one unless you don't care about saving money.
So, both have their advantages (with custom building a PC has significantly more, but still) - Let's have a look at them.
Custom built PC advantages:
1. Cheaper
2. You get what you want, not what the computer comes with.
3. You get to brag that you 'built your PC'.
4. When you build it yourself, you get the experience.
Buying a pre-built.
1. You won't screw it up. (not saying you WILL, just no change)
2. You get to brag that you have an 'Alienware'.
3. Makes you look rich.
Well I guess they have the same. Being cheaper pretty much outdoes all of a prebuilt's anyways.
Nothing wrong with Alienware, besides it being overpriced. If you can follow a tutorial to build a computer, do it. Save the money that you were to spend on an Alienware.
Alienware is some cheap plastic glued together with a cool paintjob.
I find alienware cases ugly as fuck.
They are so "fancy"
Alienware is a fancy name for dell.

I used to have an Alienware and they are great quality, just over priced. The PC I am using now is the first one I have ever build and it was easy, building a pc is like building a small lego set except each brick can only fit in one slot and the bricks are very fragile. Just build it your self, it's allot more fun and cheaper then buying a prebuilt.
I just found out that I live about five miles away from the Alienware headquarters. If I bake them a cake, do you think I'll get a free computer?

suck the CEOs dick and you have a small chance
Don't get Alienware, building will be way, way cheaper. It's actually not that hard to build a computer.

Site with very helpful animations and tips.
If you live in the US, buy from Newegg as well. Use other posts here as templates for your build.
And don't be afraid to post a thread here asking about how good your build is before you click "buy" either.
Just get a custom desktop, then there guides online, and even buy all the parts yourself and pay your local computer store to assemble it.
I built my rig back in the day with Alienware and it cost me a fortune, so i ordered the parts and paid my mate $50 to assemble it. Saved so much money.

I'd hardly call a Pentium D on a >$800 netbook "nice".

the Pentium cpu is no longer available for the m11x

and it was Pentium Dual Core not a Pentium D, there is a difference.
