• What type of megathread should I make?

Basically I want to share info to help anyone considering full time Systems Admin/Engineering, IT, or Networking. So you name it I'll make it, please ask questions pertaining to what you voted for
Make a megathread about this
helping anyone considering full time Systems Admin/Engineering, IT, or Networking.
Was that so hard?
Make a megathread about this Was that so hard?
I am a busy person, and all of those have different roles/job functions that you focus on. Writing something that large would take quite some time
Your thread would probably be on the second page in no time anyway, since I doubt it would be super active.
Your thread would probably be on the second page in no time anyway, since I doubt it would be super active.
Exactly I would rather make something people want to learn about instead of wall of text that no one reads
So you shouldn't really waste your efforts. Try making one on a computing forum and get it stickied, it will be more worthwhile there than it will be here.
Networking. :V
Write a bit of all, and if somebody asks more about something, write more about that. So you make all-in-one. But don't need to use all the time at the same time, so it saves your time.

bumping
Networking. I barely learned anything in my class this year and they aren't having it be a 4 part class anymore :saddowns:
Networking, my college doesn't teach it in-depth enough, we barely touched the surface of UDP and TCP
Networking It's fascinating to me [editline]27th June 2011[/editline] Nobody takes my posts seriously with my avatar
I love networking. Despite me knowing a lot about it, I suck at it.
I would love if you did some stuff on Systems Engineering, because I'm going into my first year of that this September.
I think you should do one on networking. I know a bit about networking but not a ton and would be interested in reading a thread on it.
networking would be cool, I agree
System Admin covers a lot of topics but more briefly
Networking is quite a weak point for me, so that would be nice to see done.
Looks like Networking won, I'll start writting up one [editline]29th June 2011[/editline] Post any questions you want me to answer
Looks like Networking won, I'll start writting up one [editline]29th June 2011[/editline] Post any questions you want me to answer
Q: How do you subnet?
Fuck yeah, the TCP IP stack! Seriously though, networking is a really cool topic and I'd participate actively on it.

Yes, networking. I think most people have very little knowledge and really only know routers, switches, hubs, wifi, and some small things. A good solid introduction to all things networking would be nice. I would definitely read it, as a lot of my job revolves around networking.
seems a consensus for networking and system admin, go for it
Make them all. Or just make an IT Jobs Megathread.
I will try to get a networking thread up by friday 8th
Sorry shit at work is a little hecktic, some shit stopped working and other is upgrading so yeah I am still working on it though
Networking. We've needed a long, thorough Networking guide. Broken down into sub-sections, I think it's way overdue.
Sorry, you need to Log In to post a reply to this thread.
