Well over the past few months(?) or so my computer has been freezing. Well just today while chatting to a friend a blue screen with text on it pops up for half a second and then my computer restarts. I've done a hard drive scan and through the process of elimination have decided that my RAM has problems. HOWEVER i had also installed a new graphics card (9800 gtx+) and was wondering if a faulty graphics card can cause freezing and a BSOD(?)
Specs as far as i remember are:
AMG(ATG i dont remember) 4400+ 2.2 ghz dual core (i think)
9800 gtx plus (possible source of trouble)
and 2 gigs of ram ( another possible source)
the reason i dont know/cant remember my specs are because i'm posting from my dad's comp and im too scared of fucking things up on my own.
please help, i wanna play tf2 :ohdear:
and if all else fails i'll just go "fuck it" and get a new computer
P.S: im pretty shitty with computers so please dumb down explanations and such :v:
I don't know if a faulty card can cause a bsod, rather than just freezing (like it did with mine)
But i think you may be overheating.
happened with me.
No i've already tried HW monitor and overclocking the fan, nothing really changes. I actually think it freezes more. :frown:
Temps?
from what i can remember it was 35-40 C
I think it's kinda hot, but hardly to the point of asploding right?
plus increasing fan speed to max din help either
bump...
I suspect it is the RAM. I had a similar problem earlier.
35-40C is a good temp. It's either your RAM or something on your HDD.
Or both.
