LCD monitor making high pitch noise & flashing when turned on

I've had this 17" LCD monitor for about two to three years now, and lately it has been acting very strangely. When I turn it on, there is a high pitch noise. It also turns off after about 1-2 seconds irregularly, then turns itself back on and loops like this. It can be fixed, but there is still the high pitch noise in the background.
I got one at the same time as my brother's, and his one also broke not too long ago (A month or two).
Their company name is 'gnr'.
Okay, so it could be age, but we have lots of CRTs that are older, and they all still work! :bang:
Did you spill something on it? Did you burn something on it?
I HAd a GNR Display. Cheap. But I didn't forsee it lasting very long so I sold it 3 days ago.
Cheap LCD Displays DO Whine When in operation, Since almost every display I have owned has been cheap as hell all of mine whined. Never had any other issues you describe though, So I am guessing they sound is unrelated.
I am guessing it is just reaching the end of it's life.

Well, that sucks. Looks like I'll have to move to a CRT if it dies before christmas :frown:
