My friend bought an i5 and a good cpu cooler so he could overclock it. I need to know how hot his cpu can get before he should stop increasing the clock and whether BIOS or software overclocking is preferred. Both can be done with no problem.

I once followed a guide to 4ghz on i5 750 and they told me that I should change settings if the temperature (on full load obv) should not exceed 80c

I just changed some numbers in the BIOS, and then my PC wouldn't start... Then I read on the internet that I push/press a switch to clear the csom or something, but the only button I could find was on the back on my computer... Should my pc be smoking?

I can't tell what your joking about and what not. If you want to reset your bios then unplug your computer and remove the battery from it for 2 minutes then put it back in
