Removal of a logging in system that took an extra 30 seconds and losing Co-Op is a good thing?
I don't see what the problem is. I spend an extra 30 seconds logging in, and I access all my save games and be able to play with others.
Just to point out, my favourite games that require GFWL are Capcom games. I don't expect them to update the games for non-GFWL functionality, thus no saves, co-op, or playing in general.
RIP GTA IV + EFLC
Hope GTA V comes to PC before it shuts down.

Now that I think about it, this is probably what the whole Halo 2 PC update thing was about.
And this is why I hate DRM...
If GFWL is getting shut down then what will happen to the GTA IV multiplayer? Will Rockstar just use Social Club instead?
HALLELUJAH.
I had to spend three solid days getting Dead Rising 2 working because of GFWL when I bought it a while back. Good riddance.
Does that mean all GFWL games won't have multiplayer anymore? I bought Dead Rising 2: OTR just a few days ago to play it coop.

For me, I would download a game only to be told I had to download an update that Steam should already downloaded anyway, chucking me put of the game.
When I logged back in it would tell me that the update failed to install so now I had to waste my time looking for a solution, which turned out to be downloading an update manager.
When you complete the update it made you download a string of other updates, and by the time they were done I'd have wasted anything up to an hour fuming at the rotten piece of shit.
And that just scratches the surface of its problems.
I don't expect them to update the games for non-GFWL functionality, thus no saves, co-op, or playing in general.
And isn't that enough of a reason why GFWL is a piece of shit?
But we've been playing DiRT2 lots because it's so much more fun than DiRT3... I hope they update it.
I want to celebrate, but this is going to kill so many games due to a lack of attention it's not even funny.

I didnt mind GFWL.. Until i played dark souls. The connection sucks ass, And sometimes it would kick you off for having low fps in single player. Also it would crash the game for no reason which you would have to start GFWL marketplace up to be greeted by an error. Then youd have to reinstall it JUST to get back into the game. Its fucking bullshit and needs to go.
I wonder what it means for, say, Dark Souls, while it probably will be dead when DS2 is out, I wonder if you'll be able to even save the game since GFWL prevents you from doing that if you're not connected.

Do you really think Steam or Origin or going down? That's like saying iTunes is gonna go down, it's delusional.
lucky for you dark souls players- it'll be using steam instead.
