It's not like it effects the price much or at all, or performance.
It just looks really tacky, even if you switch the lights off you've got part of until plastic just there.
as a 60% keyboard user I hate it when keyboards waste even more space than they already do as a full keyboard

I honestly have no idea what you're talking about, normally the lettering is made of semi-opaque white plastic, so when the lights are off, it just looks like white lettering.
The coloured part on the top of this ram, the one they're on about in the article.

I have some of the non RGB kind, it's a literal pain to put them in because the fins are sharp.
