• Dust under my screen?

Alright guys, anyone get this before? On my iPhone 3gs, I noticed a spec on my screen I wiped it away with my finger and it didn't go away, I didn't even feel it, I looked at it from a different angle and well there's a spec of dust under my screen, anyone know a trick to get rid of it, it's pissing me off and distracting. Also it's not a dead pixel, lookin at it from an angle, it's above the display screen but under the protective screen. How do I get rid of it :/ also no pix cause my only camera is my phone.
Bumps
Dead pixels are usually white, and like the OP said, its position changes based on angle. It's a bit extreme, but try sending it to Apple?
yeah I was thinking of sending it to apple, but I have to wait till I get back from the holidays, also, the spec is white, but that's when the screen is off, when i turn the screen on and say the background is white, the spec is black. But by looking at an angle, the spec doesn't seem to be a part of the digital screen, rather than the glass overlay, I'm not sure, but is that still a description of a dead pixel?
No, a dead pixel is on the screen itself. Think of the screen as many, many little televisions that display a certain color. In this case, every 'television' displays a 'screen' of 3 colors; red, blue, and green. Different shades of the television's display decides on what color the human eye can see from far away. In this case, the dead 'television' isn't displaying the right colors, and isn't really getting a signal from the device at all, and thus, it just displays RGB at maximum brightness, and from far away, it looks white to the human eye. So, this dead pixel will only show up when the screen is actually turned on, and it will not shift locations based on angle. This is probably some dust or a piece of skin or something. Try getting a can of compressed air and spraying it into the openings. Not sure if it will work, but worth a try.
open the phone, clean the spec off, and close the phone back up. it's easy. there's lots of youtube videos showing how to properly take apart the iPhone.
mmm thanks guys.. good to know it's probably not a dead pixel, i'll try n open it up myself later, shouldn't be too hard. if it is then well i'm just gunna hand it over to apple and see if they don't bother laughing at my request :v:
