Raid array failed: Need a good quality and if possible free raid recovery software.

Recently my brothers raid array (Raid-0 or Raid-5, but it was using two disks so I assume that it's raid-0) broke because the CMOS got reset. I've tried to get it working several times but no luck. :psypop:
I'm gonna attempt to fix it using more risky ways but I want to make sure that the data on the disks are safe incase I mess up.
So does anyone know some good quality, reliable and if possible free raid recovery software? I've seen some programs that combine the two disks again and create a new vitual disk but those are pretty expensive, so I'd love you if you could find a good alternative.
Get a linux disk and use the "dd" command to dump the two disks to images on a larger disk before you start messing with stuff.
I agree.
Thanks for your posts, but I am not very experienced with linux so I prefer to use a recovery program in a windows enviroment.
Fyi RAID array is redundantly redundant.

It isn't for HD intensive things like movie editing, which that pc was originally purposed to do. And no there weren't any SSDs in the year that we bought the pc.

No I mean the _term_ RAID already includes "array" in it.
It's like ATM Machine or PIN Number.
Anyone? I really need help with this. I've tried some more 'dangerous' things but those also failed. So now I only need to make sure that the data is safe and usable. Dumping two images of the disks don't work now because I am not able to merge the images and use them.
