So, just after having a recent computer crash, I went ahead and purchased the following:
Haswell i5 4670k
Asus Z87 pro
Samsung 840 120gb
Corsair Vengeance ram 8gb
The pc works fine, all fans, lights, etc are functioning properly. But I keep getting a post error that indicates I'm at bios but I have no signal to my monitor. I have tried everything: swapped GPU, cleared CMOS, reseated RAM and other parts, tried integrated graphics. So I have ruled out my GPU (GTX 570). I bought a new DVI cord, that didn't help. I tested it on a different monitor and it worked fine. I noticed that if I boot the PC with the other monitor, and transfer the DVI cord to my Samsung monitor (possibly the defective one) it also works. So it is somewhat functional. I think this is the resolution glitch. I can't access bios since I no longer have the separate monitor to test it on. Any ideas? If anyone knows Asus post codes, I get stuck at A2/AE. Thank you.

Before I bought the new parts, I just finished fixing a resolution glitch on my GPU as well. So maybe that has something to do with it.
So the suspect is the monitor, and you cannot boot even with another one?
I'm kind of dull minded right now.
A2 - IDE detect with no monitor activity
AE - Legacy Boot Event
Have you tried resetting the monitor? Kind of odd that it works when you boot up with another monitor and switch over after it boots up.
What resolution does it run? :S
Okay, so I have an update. I'm running integrated graphics from the motherboard right now via VGA. Now, the other strange thing is I have both VGA and DVI ports on the motherboard - but the DVI port does NOT work. So, basically whenever I try DVI to my monitor it doesn't work. VGA is working fine. Going to buy a new DVI -> VGA adapter today. Thanks for the suggestions, I'll keep you posted with how that works.

After installing motherboard drivers it set it to native 1920x1080.

Let me map this out:
DVI from GTX 570 or 285 -> DVI on monitor NO
DVI from onboard graphics -> DVI on monitor NO
DVI from GTX 570 -> DVI on monitor at tech store YES
VGA from onboard graphics -> VGA on monitor YES

Also, I know this sounds like the most confusing issue in the world (been working with PC's for a long time and I've never been so stumped). So I do really appreciate all your guys' help!
Alright, I fixed the issue. It was a bad DVI port. Just bought an adapter and it works fine. Mods can lock this
