-Power Supply: 250 watt :| No that computer will not run GTA 4 for a variety of reasons. Let me direct you to the PC building subforum where I'm sure if you gave a budget someone will tell you exactly what to buy.
ok thank you
You need a quad core PC since GTA IV is very CPU heavy.
would i be able to get a computer that would for around $600-$700?
You don't _need_ a quad. It helps, but it works just fine on a dual-core. I'm playing it nearly maxed out with X2 6000+.
We don't like your prebuilt kind around these parts :colbert:
Are you talking about me?

ok i will take that into consideration, and is it only the power supply and graphics card that make it so that computer wouldn't work?
is it only the power supply and graphics card that make it so that computer wouldn't work?
what
You would atleast need 4gb of ram and a dual core, And i think Anything above the nvidia 8000 series work, Although i can run it on my overclocked 7600GT Also, If you get that PC and a decent GPU you should be able to run IV. (It got 6gb RAM and a AMD x4)
Use a 500watt PSU Possibly a 5850 or a 5870. A Quad Core CPU Reasonable Motherboard with 2 PCI-E x16 slots. 2gb/4gb RAM
I would go for a custom build, post in the PC Building forum and we can make you one
Don't get a dualcore. I have an E8400 overclocked from 3.0 ghz to 3.8, 4 gb ram and a mildly overclocked 5850. The game still runs like a bitch, since it's badly optimized. I really recommend a quadcore.
That's weird, I have the stock E8400 and GTA4 runs like a champ for me.
Depends on your definition of what you consider is running well. I'm running GTA IV at 25-30 fps, to some it is playable, and to some it is not. I have a q6600 @ 3.2 GHz by the way.
would i be able to get a computer that would for around $600-$700?
yeah, I built one that is hd radeon 5770 w./ athlon x4 635 for about 585 not including monitor.
here is what i i have decided on https://secure.newegg.com/WishList/MySavedWishDetail.aspx?ID=12025891 would that work?

im just going to save up the extra $100 and get this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227257&cm_re=ibuypower-_-83-227-257-_-Product

You can almost always save hundreds of dollars on custom builds that WILL be more reliable.
That's weird, I have the stock E8400 and GTA4 runs like a champ for me.
What resolution? I'm using 1920x1200. GTA4 have had better days before the last patch steam updated it with, that's when it started bullshitting my E8400 3.8ghz. I used to run it fine with the 9800gtx, even at that resolution. Then they updated it and I got under 15 fps. Then I got a 5850 and it runs now, but now as fluid as I'd like it to.. I get that the CPU shouldn't change depending on resolution, but it might. It is a console port after all, so everything can make a difference.
why should i not get a prebuilt
Because they suck. They give you shit graphics cards 100% of the time and 50% they give you shit CPU's as well.
After all, building your own gives plenty of bonuses: 1. You know exactly what's going into it. (Many advantages here alone) 2. You get the (Very usefull) experience of putting a PC together. 3. You don't pay the inflated prices (Set in place so that the company selling the PCs can gain extra profit) 4. If the right components are chosen, custom builds are generally far more future proof. (saving money in the long run!) 5. by considering what you will be using it for, you can have a tailored build that runs what you will doing most especially well. 6. It's rather fun making it, as you go from many boxes to a working, breathing machine that really feels like it's yours. It's immensly satisfying.
