This happens to my video every once and a while:

It also makes the graphics mess up in whatever game I'm playing at the time. The only way I've been able to fix it is to just restart my computer. Why does this happen?
Gfx card overheating is an possibility.
It is dying.
This happened to me a couple of days ago. It's called "artifacting" and the card will probably die soon. This is generally due to overheating or faulty VRAM, I believe. Or possibly a faulty stick of RAM. You could try reseating your card and RAM but it had no effect for me. Good luck. :tiphat:
How could it be my card dying? This started in the first month I had this computer.

Dead On Arrival.
But probably Overheating or faulty drivers.

This. ('faulty' and 'arrival')
Yes, your card is probably dieing. My 8600GT did this when it was about to go. Sent it back to XFX and they said it was dieing and they replaced it. Not saying this is what to do. But just agreeing with all the others. BTW it's called artifacting.

I doubt faulty drivers would cause this. It definately looks like a hardware problem, not a software one.

I would 100% try reinstalling the drivers after cleaning them off with drive Sweeper.
It is such an easy thing to do in comparison to sending it back.

Actually, you raise a good point. You have nothing to lose by reinstalling.
I had this. I sent my card back to the manufacture, they sent me another one, and it did the same thing. Now I have to send it back again.
I mean, fuck!

The exact same thing happened to me! The first card was faulty on arrival and when I sent it back they either gave me the exact same card, or it was another faulty one...
Utterly ridiculous... :argh:
could be you don't have enough airflow or not enough power to support the card

I got a 750 Watt Power Supply and my case is open. Next up is placing a block of ice on my card.
Same thing's been happening to me recently and I've had for less than a month, I swear to god if it was dead on arrival. :argh:
