I just ordered: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.26349
In a few weeks when it arrives, what is the best software can I shove on my netbook to use it with? If possible I would like the ability to download satellite maps as well as normal street maps. Speed and directions would be nice too.

Actually, that GPS unit looks like it has map software included...

You know software that comes with stuff is generally always crap.

Streets and Trips is just about the best offline mapping program with GPS support out there short of a another program that comes with Delorme GPS units but I have never used it.
I got it (Streets and Trips 2003) installed on my older Pentium 1 Toughbook and working with a GPS module. I can toss it on my passengers seat and drive from Point A to point B pretty hassle-free now.

You get my point. That's after market software as so to speak. We're talking bundled crap that the maker of the GSP whips together for those people out-of-the box.
Does the free version of google earth not have basic gps support?

You don't get clear images when offline.
Thanks! I will go with Microsoft Streets and Trips. Does it have satellite maps too?
