When ever I play games my computer just shuts off with no warning.
I kinda suck with computers so I don't know how to fix it.
So please help me I want to play Cortex Command, And Fallout: New Vegas.
So bad I tried cleaning out my computer there was loads of dust but the computer still shuts off.
Maybe its overheating.
more likely than not it's the PSU

I am pretty sure it is overheating how do I prevent that?
grab a screen of hwmonitor
grab a screen of hwmonitor

A program for monitoring temperatures...
Where do I get it?
Holy fuck bro, your system is hotter then my ex-girlfriend. And that's saying something!
Check your fans and paste, and stop using it cause you'll fry your pc like that.
Oh man, you really need to reseat your heatsink or something, do you have any thermal compound? If not, head to staples, radio shack, office depot, etc, but some, clean the old stuff off and put it back on.

What is a Heatsink and Thermal compound?
As I said I suck with computers and what the parts are named.
Your temps is like if you ran without thermal paste at all, go to your closest store that sells thermal paste, buy a syringe of it (or whatever containment they use, usually some kind of syringe though), take the cooler off and scrape the old off with a credit card and apply some new, dont overdo it, the layer should cover as much as possible of the CPU and be as thin as possible

DOnt forget the rubbing alcohol needs to be 91% or more
this cleans it better
Oh god those temps :byodood:
Better shut that thing down before it catches on fire. Also, clean it with compressed air, not your fingers. No vacuum cleaners.
Jesus. You could cook pasta on that thing. Get some thermal paste!

I cleaned my laptop fan with a vacuum :smug:
I could cook lunch on your cpu

I cleaned my laptop using the air compressor in our garage. 120 PSI of cleaning POWER.

Thanks it worked!
I did not think some liquid stuff could help so much!
What are the temps now?
And where is your Graphics Card? (GPU)

Its most likely a prebuilt (from gateway) that has integrated graphics without a heat sensor
Dude, you're past 100C while idling? No wonder your computer shuts off while you're playing games.
You need to clean out your computer and probably reseat your heatsink.

Pee-shaw. I regularly get 110C on my laptop, and it only occasionally shuts down mid-Minecraft/KOTOR/Mass Effect
