I know nothing about hardware. My question is: Is this a good graphics card to have in a laptop? Why doesn't it have a ventilator? I want to run Counter Strike: Source at at least 150 fps. Please help. Card: http://www.nvidia.com/object/product_geforce_gt_240m_us.html
Why do you want to run it at at least 150fps? Will your laptop have a screen capable of displaying 150fps? My point being, you can argue that it makes your response times faster, but it really won't if your laptop screen can only 60fps. Plus you'll get tearing too. EDIT: In other news, I benchmarked CS:S with my 4670 at 1680x1050, and got 163fps. So I'm pretty sure that the 240m (which is slightly lower specs than the 4670) should get 150fps at a laptop screen res.
laptops aren't really meant for gaming unless you get a gaming one
I don't have a choice, it has to be a laptop. So is this one of those integrated graphic cards or what? Just want someone to tell me how well i can run stuff with this thing...
you should be able too run CSS pretty good
Why would you want to run CSS at 150fps? Once the FPS is over about 30, you cant really tell a difference between 30 and 250 fps. I don't remember all of the mumbo-jumbo that goes with it, but I think it has something to do with your eye can see infinitely many FPS, but your brain can only "show" so many or something like that.
I'm just asking if i can run css at 150 fps so it's easier for me to imagine how good this card would work. Is it so fucking hard to figure this out!?
Laptops usually have integrated cards...
Most of the time, you cant even change a laptop GPU.
