Here with a question...
I'm thinking about getting a newer faster hard drive seeming mine is getting old..
Now is it possible to run my computer on a faster hdd while i store all my personal things (Songs, movies, pictures) on a different hdd and still be able to access them easily?
how go about in setting this up??
Yes.
The new hard drive will just show up in Windows as any other would, and you can store stuff on it. The only setting up you need is putting it in your pc and plugging it up.
Don't try moving the Windows installation though, the other stuff should be fine.
so what will i have to do if i have 2 hard drives plugged in and want windows installed on the faster one?
Re-install Windows on the faster one.
There may be a way to move it, but I'm honestly not sure as I haven't tried to do that before, I've only re-installed.
You'll have to re-install windows or you can clone your old harddrive onto your new one.
if you happen to be going for speed look into a Solid State Drive, its basically a giant flash drive and has no moving parts. The only issue is they tend to be expensive and come in small sizes because it is a new product.
A 32GB SSD should be plenty for an average W7 install, not too expensive.
