Are they ? Last time I've heard them mention a new borderlands they explicitly said they wouldn't try for quite some time because they just didn't have the means to beat 2 in scale and content.

He was the main writer for Borderlands, not all of Gearbox. I know he's not writing for their new game (meaning Battleborn).

The "main writer" for GBX is Mikey Neumann, who almost completely ignored Weddle and Thompson's liners/draft and churned out the award winning and gameplay exploding milestone that is Aliens: Colonial Marines.

But you play as a Doppelganger, so more like someone else who had surgery and whatnot to look and sound like Jack, as opposed to actually Jack.
