I have no problem with it being released so soon. Now if I can just find enough time to finish the main game with my friend sometime, so we can play this, it'd be great.

This is no surprise that it's out this early. The first BL1 DLC was out 3 weeks after the base game. The game went gold almost 2 months ago, that's more than enough time to finish DLC.

they've been working on this starting right after they finished the game
it's been a few months, it takes time to ship a finished product
paying for on-disk DLC is paying to access something you already own, this is nothing like that
pretty sure this was done mostly out of house anyways

You serious? The game was completed back in early august and they have separate teams for DLC and main game, And if you've played Borderlands 1 DLCs you'll know they are HUGE.

they've got plans for 4 DLCs which are included in the season pass.
Probably not going to buy any DLC until I am completely done with the base game.
