• Just started playing guitar - callous problem

So, I just started playing the classical guitar a few weeks ago - but there's one thing that's really annoying the shit out of me. During the first two weeks or so I developed a normal callous that protected my thumb all right - but recently it has mutated into a giant bump of skin on my thumb, which, doesn't work with a touchpad and it feels like I have a band-aid on my thumb - and it's painful to a minor degree. What should I do about it?
Use a nail file.
Use a pick, the thumb and fingers aren't the best for a beginner.
Use a pick.
Use a pick.
As stated above a pick is usually the best option, you don't really need calluses on your hands except for the hand you use to fret the guitar. Whatever you do though do not cut them off, this will make it more painful to play guitar and might lead to you quitting because of this.
