Ok so I have just build a PC from scratch first time, everything has gone well so far, all componants have been installed and my computer turns on, the screen comes on showing the motherboard screen, it checks the RAM and says it's ok it also identifies my processor, it then sticks on that screen and wants me to press something I know what to press but the keyboard doesn't work, it is pluggedinto the old type of keyboard socket, it's not a USB one, any help why I wouldn't work? Oh one other thing it is an upgrade so the hard drive already has windows 7 installed on it with drivers and programmes etc.
You will have to reinstall Windows, Windows 7 does not just accept being plugged into another system. Also give us the exact message you get.
Are you sure the keyboard is plugged into the correct PS/2 socket? Should be in the purple one, not the green one.

You will have to reinstall windows.
Yes I understand that now but that doesn't solve my problem read the op
Make sure the PS/2 keyboard is in the purple slot like birkett mentioned. Or borrow a USB one from a friend, But if I remember correctly you have a G15 keyboard.
