I don't even like football anymore (Stopped playing about 6-7 years ago) but FIFA with friends is actually very fun. Not worth 60€ a year but it's not bad games in any way.

Fifa is just simple and fun, which makes it appealing and great to play with some friends over. Sure they don't need to make it every year, but people come back to it because it is well made ~fun

Sports games are some of the most fun I've ever had while gaming, and in some instances the most intense. You play short games where you can pretty much just fuck around and enjoy yourself. It attracts the same audience as LoL, CoD, TF2 etc. You can drop in for 10 minutes have some fun then log out.

From the guy that's played Garry's mod for over 1,000 hours
I mean yeah...Fifa is an absolute love-hate. But the main problem for me is not the game, it's the community. Just read the shitstorm about some player ratings and you know why.
Nevertheless, some people buy CoD every year, some Battlefield, I buy Fifa. It's just awesome to play with friends especially when each one supports another club.:v:
Fifa for me is a party game, it's a let's all get down and play some Fifa game. I suppose it's the same as the Madden games in America.
Even as a fan of soccer, I personally only get a copy of fifa every few years.
I find it rather ridiculous to get EVERY new edition each year.
Fifa never really appealed to me, I'd rather explore say a City under the sea than simulate football.

You're comparing two different types of games. People don't play Sports games for hours on end for the story and the Rule 34 of the main characters. They play sports games for 10-15 minutes of fun before moving onto something else.
I wish I was good at FIFA, it's the only thing keeping me from getting it. My friends just love this game, and I get destroyed in every match.

Practice on the easiest difficulty then as you start winning more and more games against the CPU, move up a notch.
I remember playing the 2002 World Cup game. I'd keep on trying to tackle the keeper, until eventually all my players got sent off. Occasionally I managed to injure the little get though, and then it was a free-for-all...

Best thing to do is put your striker in goal, then put all your goalies up front. You can't pass or shoot for shit and when they get in your half they pretty much always score.
The clubs mode is great where you can create your own person, raise their stats etc and play in a team with friends/people online etc. Had a load of fun with that.
I buy one every year. But i buy them preowned and 2 years behind the latest on. They are dirt cheap by then, honestly i havent spent more than 99p on a fifa game since 08.
