Be honest, what is the primary reason that you use Linux? Free as in freedom, or free as in free beer?
For me, free beer.
Free as in freedom :D

Poll lacks some options. What if I use it just to sound cool?

Then you're pretty stupid actually.
I'm not much of a gamer, and the few games I do play either run natively or with few issues in Wine. It's a much better operating system for the way I use my computer.
Free as in freedom/beer is just a bonus. If linux wasn't free I would probably still use it.
Free as in freedom
I get so much more done in the command line.
Free as in free beer. It's an excellent OS, but I still prefer Windows for various reasons that I'm not going to bother listing. I keep it for emergency purposes and when I feel like mucking around.
I just like the feel of it really, could care less about the cost.
But free beer is always good!
I love CLI, and rarely play games. I do watch a movie and browse on the web. I find it easier to use Linux than Windows.
Free as in freedom.
Windows Alternative.
So I choose both. (Voted free beer)
Free as in freedom. It is much faster than windows and I'm never really going to play any games aside from maybe the odd emulator on my netbook, anyway.
Speed, stability, usability, the CLI, customizability, it's range of manual pages can really help if you read them, the file system structure, the package manager and how if X breaks I can fix it.
Customization.
Windows hates me

and I don't want OSX
Where is the "because i can" option?
I never liked having to defrag every week.
I also Don't like having to install anti-virus and malware scanners... That alone should tell you there's something's not right about the Windows scene.

You must choose.
Main reason is that I prefer it for general web browsing etc.
The open source is a bonus.
I love that I can do practically anything with it I want. Oh no I don't like my GUI? That's cool I'll make my own. Don't want a bunch of shit that isn't necessary installed? Well then just build your OS from the kernel up. It is totally however you want it to be.

Also the ease of use added by having a nice little package manager is nice. Not as much googling random shit and downloading only to see that the program sucks.
If Hammer, Source and HL1 worked natively in Linux, I'd ditch Windows in an instant. Unfortunately, only HL1 or Source seem to work in any given install and Hammer doesn't work period. Emulation is way too slow so I'm stuck balancing both.

I also would enjoy mapping in Linux.
Feels good.
I use Linux for when I don't want to pay for Windows Server 2003/8.
Windows services are much easier to set up (iSCSI using Linux is ARGH, whereas Win Storage Server just works, granted there is a £5,000 price difference).
Currently using a CentOS 5 VPS to run torrentflux (which funnily enough torrents CentOS distros).
the freedom to customize everything in a way that helps productivity
I've never felt bogged down by the OS interface because I can design it myself
It's quick and efficiant, that's why.
Plenty of optimized filesystems to choose from, no defragging needed, no need to patch system files (or install third party apps) to install themes, no anti-virus or spyware scanners required... Life's good man.
I like your avatar, Pixel :3

There's nothing wrong with Windows just because it has the largest amount of malware aimed at it, the same would occur if any particular Linux distribution had the largest market share. Malware designers go for the biggest crowds they can, which happens to be Windows.
I only use Linux on my brothers shitty laptop now, Windows runs like shit on it, so Linux is my only other option, trying to convince him to use it too so he stops bitching about Windows lagging? Impossible.
Free as in Freedom
I just like experimenting and having fun in it.
