Sup FP Together with a friend i'm running a website about immersion RC flying which is basically putting a camera on your RC plane and have it transmit to your video goggles on the ground. We are a medium sized community with German and English forums. This is where i need your help: We're running two blogs (One German and one English) on which we review hobby related products that we get sent to us by various companies and dealers. We're in bit of a need for a proper template for these blogs. The thing is that we want them to have a look that is clearly different from the actual websites for the sake of appearing objective (We have ads on our main pages). You'll only need to follow a few basic guidelines regarding colors and typeface. You may use this as a rough orientation: http://fpv-community.com/forum/ Our typeface is currently Myriad, although we will be switching to Aller Sans in our upcoming relaunch. Aller Sans is a free typeface, shouldn't be a problem to get it. Our rough colorscheme you should refer to would be grey-blue (RGB 79;106;139) and white. The layout should have two columns. Quick sketch in Paint because my PS is acting up: (Hope you can forgive me the horrible sketch above) Reviews and News will each have their own categories. Under the newest post there could be something like latest comments or something, i'll leave that up to you. You don't need to present a working WP template right away but you should be able to make one in case we pick yours. Understatement is advised - we don't want a super cool and hip theme but rather something easy to read, simple and serious looking. Because we are srs business, we'd like you to not brandmark the theme in any way although it is fine to leave a remark in the HTML. Also, by participating you will grant us full usage rights for your theme and exclusive use on FPV-Community.de and .com in case you win. If you don't win, you can do whatever you want with the theme. There is no deadline just yet. So, that's about it. Go wild i guess. Oh yeah and: What you'll get for this :siren: The submission we like the most will become the default theme on both our review blogs. Depending on how awesome your work is, what payment methods you accept and how we feel, rewards will range from moneys to Steam gifts, iTunes gift cards or whatever. So, um. Guess i pretty much said everything now. I hope we'll get some cool stuff in and thanks in advance.
What about doing a HTML template, and then when whoever wins, then converting that over to a Wordpress theme? I wouldn't want to spend hour's writing a theme for someone and then it not being used.

I thought it would be a good idea to actually let someone that knows what he's doing make it. I simply don't have the time to work into Wordpress at the moment. If you don't win, you can just help people that are searching for WP templates or use it for something else. If you win, you'll have fame and be a tiny bit nearer to being a millionaire.

I was hinting at the fact it'll take a hour or two to whip up that design as a HTML template, and then about the same to convert to a Wordpress theme. If I could show you the design I made for you at the two hour, HTML template stage, rather than at the four hour, Wordpress stage, It would save me, if I did not win, 2 hours of my time.

Add me on steam. "Blade_Raider"
So this is going to be left-oriented, or are you going to have it centered on the page?
I'd personally say centered but if you crank out something that looks awesome on the left i'm fine with that too.
Oh ok. From your diagram I was getting the notion of it being on the left. Alright, I'll see what I can come up with. :) [editline]06:07PM[/editline] Also, when's this over?
There's not really a deadline. I guess at least two weeks and maximum a month.
Alright
A quick mockup: Half-finished HTML:
That's great. Text on the mockup looks a bit big and clumsy but it's alright on the HTML.
Um...Progress?
How much are you willing to pay?
How much are you willing to pay?
Depending on your work, up to 50€.
