I stopped shopping on newegg when I realized how much better amazon is. So right around 2010.

i don't know if US amazon is any better but the search categories are absolutely trash on amazon compared to newegg when you're trying to compare similar products, you can even sort things like every laptop they stock by exact combinations of cpu/gpu etc.
