So I've had a problem with properly washing my hair for I dunno, a year or two now...
Sad thing is I'm fuckin' 16 and don't know how to properly do it. I don't know what happened I just, can't seem to get this shit right and always end up with greasy hair with that strands fall off throughout the day.
This irritates the hell out of me because I kind of like having long hair, but I've tried stuff like conditioner, which in some cases just made it worse due to my sheer incompetence. I've also tried googling it on one or two occasions, didn't help much. If I somehow can't get to the point of properly being able to take care of my hair I'm just gonna get it cut a bit shorter which I'd rather not do since my girlfriend is quite partial to it. What I'm simply asking is;
How the fuck do I wash my hair properly, also while caring for it?

Sounds like damaged hair tbh. Get some of the shampoo designed for greasy and/or damaged hair. Make sure you use conditioner before shampooing if you aren't sure, from my experience it works the same but it washes out easier. When washing your hair, do the squeak test after washing the shampoo out. If your hair squeaks when you put pressure on it and move your hand down, like you are flattening it then it means all the shampoo is gone and you shouldn't have problems.
Do you brush it?

I've taken up usually brushing it after I get out of the shower.
If you have damaged/greasy hair use shampoo that is suited for it. Don't use head and shoulders or similar because it damages your hair.
Shampooing and conditioning once a day is usually great for most people, when you put the conditioner in leave it to soak for a few minutes
In terms of what you actually do, just get it wet in the shower, squeeze a bit of shampoo into your hands, rub hands together, rub hands on hair. Rinse it off, put conditioner in the same way (conditioner doesn't work into a lather like shampoo does but it still works), leave it for 2-3 minutes, rinse out. That's what I do and it works for my hair which is naturally very frizzy/wavy
have your hair trimmed of any split or dead ends, go around 5 days between actually washing your hair for around a month, just rinse it when you shower. cheap shampoo contains some nasty "moisturizers" and harsh detergents that tend to wreck your hair
Start reading the labels on your shampoo, here's a list of ingredients to avoid

whenever you do wash your hair, try a keratin infusing shampoo. it's normally sold as a trendy snake oil product for increasing volume, but in your case it should actually help cover up the damage. mixing it with a bit of activated charcoal couldn't hurt either
