For those AMD Guys btw
Running this on a Phenom 1100T, 8gb ram and an HD6970 on 1920x1080 on High, pretty much consinstent on 60fps, occasional dips though, but never below 45fps.
Basically ah Mid-High Rig from 2011, and the game runs very good.
Don't be discouraged because of the rumors that it's not optimized.
It was pretty much confirmed by multiple sources now that it's a very good port, and I so far can confirm it.
Mouse Keyboard Control works great ingame. Didn't feel the need to plug in my Xbox Controller.
Option Menus are plenty and Controls and Graphics are nicely customizable as it should be.
NO Mouse Controls on the Menus though. Also it supports Borderless Fullscreen Mode, always a big plus.
Thank you Kojima.
Now get the whole Metal Gear Collection on PC before part 5 arrives. Thanks.
Hey, so... Are we able to have MGO with just Ground Zeroes?
Hey, so... Are we able to have MGO with just Ground Zeroes?
I doubt it.
If your PC is a little bit below minimal reqs (like mine), you may still be able to run it on 30 FPS on low. If you delude yourself hard enough, you might even think that the graphics aren't that bad, like I have.
This port puts others to shame. I have a piece of shit laptop, but it runs at a fairly good framerate at med 1080p.
Can someone explain the difference to me the difference between MGSV: Phantom Pain and MGSV: Ground Zeroes? Why are there multiple releases?
Old ass computer, everything high but shadows(its always shadows that ruin my fps) stable 45-60, could very easily get 60+ if I tweaked a few settings. If you were worried about the port its fucking amazing.
Such a fantastic port, only issue are the menus are done with keyboard arrow keys and it can be a bit wonky. Changing weapons is also a bit awkward at first with keyboard/mouse but you get used to it.

Ground Zeroes is to The Phantom Pain what the Tanker Mission was to Big Shell.
Basically Konami gave Kojima an ultimatum and told him to release Phantom Pain in 2014 or split the releases apart. He chose to split the releases so he could polish Phantom Pain to hell and release MGO in 2015.

MGS:GZ is RIGHT after MGS:Peace Walker, a PSP game. Im talking like a literal week later. It all takes place with two key characters on MGS world version of Guantanamo bay(it actaully turns into that in its timeline) Its a blacksite prison camp that even the guards have no fucking clue who is really using it and why.
GZ wont make a lick of sense unless you played Peace Walker, its too disconnected from MGS3 for 3 to matter much.
Its essentially a game for the fans who wanted a taste of MGSV long before MGSV comes out.MGSV: The Phantom Pain is the actual next new major MGS, like MGS1/2/3/4. It takes place from what we know 9 years later since Big Boss gets put into a coma at the end of GZ. Its gonna be a fully fledged and massive game with two major open world areas we know of. Its what could be the final gap for the Metal Gear timeline, a lot of people think its going to end close to or leading up to MG1(not mgs1 but the old 2d one) essentially securing the MGS timeline once and for all.
GZ isnt important at all unless you played PW and want to see why Kaz gets so sassy and why Big Boss got into a coma and your motherbase was destroyed+pmcs.
K, i'm even more confused now. So, is this like MGSV: episode 1 or MGSV: demo? How long is it anyways?

It's a prologue epiosode. Your mileage may vary - there are several side-ops and multiple playstyles to go through, but the main mission is a couple of hours long.
Thank you based Kojima

Its 9 years prior to the events in MGSV:TPP and GZ just leads up to MGSV:TP. Main mission took me about 2-3 hours my first time playing it, can be done in like 15 minutes casually once you get good.

People have argued a lot whether or not it's a demo.
What can be said is that it's like Dead Rising 2: Case Zero, which I believe Capcom advertised as a demo.
So, is it worth it for the price?
So, is it worth it for the price?
If you like MGS, then yes its very worth it. If this is your first MGS dont bother, go get MGS1 and start playing it.

You'll get conflicting reports. I think most people would agree, though, that during the steam sale you can get much better value for the £10 you'd spend.
But I've not played any MGS before other than a little bit of MGS1 on PS1, this looks awesome though and I really wanna get into the series but I feel like the graphics/controls of the older games will hold the experience back now they're so dated
Well, MGS1 definately feels dated, but I don't recall MGS2 having bad controls, in fact, I believe they are quite good for a game with pre-defined camera angles.
Won't be getting this due to the fact that I've only playing Metal Gear Rising before this one, too expensieve for the amount of gameplay even more considering I don't know the background etc.

definitely a lot more content and hours in ground zeroes than case zero.

Actually Ground Zeroes is months after Peace Walker, the end of PW is late 1974 and the start of GZ is February or March 1975.

Ground Zeroes takes place at midnight on the 16th of March 1985, Peace Walker ends on the 21st of December 1974.

75 not 85
I hope they update the companion app to support the PC version, it sounds rad.
WARNING! If you love MGS games like me that's cool but if you're expecting this to be a full length game it really isn't.
