Hell, I hope it lives a thousand years, it's a magnificent game, GW2 took heavy inspiration (RvR/WvW, level boosting, public missions/dynamic events, guild progression) from it and for good reason, it did a lot of things right. If the game itself went free to play with a decent model (hell, I'd be okay with a bad one) I'd shit my pants in excitement

If they made the MMO F2P I'd come back and try it. Kind of funny that SWTOR went F2P within months but WAR still isn't.

It was scarcely advertised, wasn't on Steam, and the people who would jump at the chance to buy this game probably didn't even know it existed. It was destined to fail.

I remember seeing somewhere that EA can't make it Free to Play because of Games Workshop having a whinge or something along those lines - which I wouldn't put past Games Workshop at all.

And that's a [i]damn[/i] shame, Warhammer Online was one of the best MMO's i've ever played.

the problem was they made the chaos faction horribly OP and everyone wanted to be chosen knights, ended up with horribly unbalanced servers.

I still got the collectors somewhere in my closet.

People argued about balance both ways and they were for the most part true. Yeah Chosen were incredible, but Order also had classes like Warrior Priest and the High Elf tank that were just outright better than their Destruction opposites.
