• When my graphics card is in my PC it won't turn on

Hi, my ATI Sapphire x1650 pro has started acting weird lately, it'd emit a strong smell of solder and then there would be no display on the screen, when I turned the PC off and turned it back on right away it would not turn on unless I waited a while. Now the graphics card will not allow the computer to turn on, other graphics cards work but they're not good enough for what I need so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I wouldn't want to assume you're dumb, but surely it's obvious that it's overheating? The smell of solder is because the card is getting really hot, and it has to cool down before it will work again.
Return it to AMD..
I'm aware that it was an overheating issue, it just makes no sense as it never overheated before. I've had it far too long to return it to amd so that's not really an option. And it's not turning on at all now.
And it's not turning on at all now.
Maybe, just maybe, it's because the graphics card is totally fucked?
It's definitely totally fucked but I'd like to thing there was some way to fix it so I don't have to spend more money on a new graphics card, my housemate gave me a PCI-E graphics card I could've used but my PC doesn't have a PCI-E slot.

Ah, if only I had the money...
Well, tell us what you need it for and we could find some cheap cards that will do what you want.
Nothing important really, it was for gaming and nothing more.
Well, what's the budget you are on?
Cheap as possible, Can't go higher than £30, hence why I'm having issues with it.

Hmm I got my x1650 for £30, but I'm apprehensive about spending too much money considering I am a student.
Uhh, thirty quid won't get you much. Maybe a second hand 4xxx card or a second hand 2xx.
