The only way minecraft is even remotely enjoyable is with friends on a private server. Public servers are like a holocaust of brain cells and singleplayer gets pretty repetitive.

All these crazy fancy mods are way too confusing for newcomers. When you join servers like these you just get assaulted by text. The only way to really play these with any decency is to read some wiki for an hour beforehand. That's not fun, at least to me.
What about Keralis' servers? They've got a hell of a community and server capacity

You aren't the only one. There is a lot of unnecessary complexity to most of these mods.

To be fair, some of the things built look amazing. The scale of it all is pretty impressive.

Minecraft is actually a really fun game to play multiplayer hardcore with some friends. So many ways to die, 1 life only, great fun.
