http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814103085 That is my graphics card. I plan on snagging another one to crossfire, as you can see. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371016 This is my PSU which is good. But is it crossfire good? If so, is it possible to buy 2 6 pin connectors and plug them into it? It has 5 expansion ports, but only one is red and labeled for PCI. The rest say SATA or something. Is it safe? Was that port just the generic go-to? My computer is GPU PSU i5 750 Gigabyte mobo 4 gigs ram Thank you kindly. [editline]09:04PM[/editline] Oh and if that PSU ends up just being the bane of crossfireing, what PSU would be good for it? Thanks again.
This is just personal experience, but I've built 3 computers using that exact PSU and 2 of those PSUs failed (within 6 months). Antec normally puts out quality products but 2 out of 3 doesn't bode well. Besides 550W probably won't be enough Maybe a 600W-650W Corsair? About 600W should be good for that card in Crossfire depending on the rest of your system. source: http://www.guru3d.com/article/radeon-hd-5850-review-crossfire/9 (Their system would have a higher power-draw then yours)
Alright. So if I get a 650 watt PSU that says "Crossfire ready" but only comes with 2 6 pin connectors, would I just need to buy 2 more and plug them into it?
My computer is GPU PSU i5 750 Gigabyte mobo 4 gigs ram
What is this? PSU is not a type of PSU, and GPU is not a type of GPU. Gigabyte mobo could equal many motherboards..

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139010 That's $6 more, considering the other one has $5.99 shipping, and after you apply the coupon. So get that one ^

Sad day >: Also, my motherboard I have has 2 USB 3 ports and I think one SATA 6 port, but if both PCIE slots are in use it puts them both at 8x (Which I saw benchmark comparisons of to 16x and it's like 5 FPS so whatever) and downs the power of the USB 3/SATA 6 ports to USB 2/SATA 3. Is it a good trade off?

Now I wish I had a build project to put one in! :crying: [editline]04:54PM[/editline]
Mmm, not going to be able to order it by tomorrow since I get paid on thursdays and I only got 64 bucks in my bank. Maybe as more USB 3 compatible devices come out the difference will be clearer.
