I was just using my laptop like normal but then it randomly shut down and stopped working. When I hit the power button nothing happens, no lights, no nothing. It is an HP DV9838CA. I was thinking it might be CMOS but I am not sure. If I cant get it fixed in like 3 days I am just going to take it in for repairs. I havent yet tried getting rid of static by holding power for 30 seconds without AC or Battery so I will be sure to dothat and report back. Thanks!
Does it still not turn on with the AC charger connected?
I havent yet tried getting rid of static by holding power for 30 seconds without AC or Battery so I will be sure to dothat and report back.
Static? That just does a hard reset, there shouldn't be a problem with static. To be honest you probably should've done that before you made the thread but in the event that the hard reset doesn't work is the charging light on when you plug it in? Or does it appear to be completely dead? Keep in mind too that those HP DV series laptops are some of the most problem ridden machines out there, check to see if there was a recall on your model.
Remove the battery and try to turn it on.
I have removed the battery and tried and nothing happens. The light is on when the AC is connected. So far nothing I have tried works.
