I have a fujifilm S700 DSLR camera that i would like to use as a webcam. my camera does not support this functionality out of the box, but did a half-hour of google searching so i know that it is possible.
i have the USB cable that acts as AV out.
I need:
free third party software that enables the use of my camera as a webcam
some instruction on how to set it up
thanks everyone

If the camera you use has some kind of software that comes with it, You can use live view mode or something of the sort. Canon cameras have liveview as one of the options for their program. Just check the site for the brand of your camera and download any documentation and programs. Hopefully you'll find something.
Dude i really think its up to your camera, i know i can do it with my 7D because the camera itself supports live view. but using a dslr is really silly for a webcam because its awesome resolution gets downscaled to like 640x480

Well, at least it would be a GOOD quality VGA webcam. Not like a majority of the washed out, out of focus VGA cams you see online.
