I dont have any problem with D3D games
Buy new videocard!!!
Hard to diagnose, try running stress tests on various components to see if one of them fails. Maybe the card is dying and some OpenGL specific function is first thing to go.
Get a new videocard.
Reinstall drivers, but first remove your graphics drivers completely with Driver Sweeper
"Geforce 4 Ti4200"
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Well, either your card is dying, either something wrong with the whole system and/or the drivers
maybe it's overheating?
Tried rolling back the driver? Have you ever had it freeze when not using an OpenGL application? I'm sure you already know this and I know buying a new card might not be an option for you but that card is fairly dated, it could simply be dying. But first try rolling back the drive and maybe doing a memory test (http://www.memtest.org/).
Again I know you don't want to buy a new card but you can probably pick up an AGP x700 from Craigslist for about $30 or something, not to mention going from a Geforce 4 to something even a little bit newer like a used 6600 or x700 would make a world of difference for less than $40.

i runned Half-Life 2 after the blender freezed and i closed it, HL2 runs good without any problem...
so it simply dying? :smith:
Try and stress test the card, that will usually reveal if something is up.
