Do you have an integrated graphics card?
It's most likely using your RAM as shared memory.
I've got a macbook pro, it has a nVidia 9400M and a nVidia 9600M.
They're 'sharing' the RAM.
A 9400M AND a 9600M?
May I ask why it has both?

I'm guessing one for battery life, and the other for performance and it switches between them.

I'm not sure on how to do this on a Macbook pro. Could you explain that?

It's only on my windows partition so I can do that. OS X uses all 2 Gig's
