I own an Xbox 360 from October 2005. Is thing valueable?

While working an alternate job I was given an Xbox 360 that wasn't being sold because "it's a bomb waiting to go off."
The console was apparently built on October 14 2005 which is more than a month before the official release of the Xbox 360 and almost seven years later it is still running and playing games with no problems.
I'm not sure if it's worthless because it's a release unit and thus suffers ALL of the original problems the 360 had when it was released or if it's a priceless piece of work because it's it's a working original 360.
This is also the first Xbox 360 I have ever owned so I'm not sure how to use it.
Possibly a tad more to a collector but only if you have proof of the date. Honestly people buy newer consoles to play games not collect the system. If I were you I would keep it in working order as long as possible so in the future it may be worth something to a collector.
There's not too much value to it. However, I am willing to buy it off of you as a regular used Xbox if you don't want it.

I give no promises it will die the next day.
The whole reason I'm amazed is that it's an original release unit and it's still working even though they apparently have the highest failure rate out of all the revisions of the console. This thing should technically not be alive.
Back in 2010 you could have sold it for $400, when those were the only ones you could J-TAG.
I only know this because I used to work at a Computer repair/ LAN center that also modded Xboxs.
I had a midnight launch one that I sold for about $40. Not much money for older current gen consoles.

Uh no. There's a new hardware based glitch that allows you to accomplish the same, which can be done on any Xbox BUT the first generation Xenons.

I don't really care about that. Can you check what the dashboard version is?
how do you check the version?
Console Settings > System Info or something like that. It's on the bottom of the screen

WERE
Search up GliGli Reset Glitch
This glitch needs a modchip since it's a hardware based attack rather than a software one. There are over 9000 variations of modchips, clones, and compatible dev boards out there anyways.

That is why I said back in 2010, I know of the new exploit.
The xbox is horrible

Must've misinterpreted your post then.
Nonetheless you're still wrong about it being the only console able to use the JTAG hack. Xenons got the first dibs, that's true, but support for all other consoles came as long as you didn't update to the latest dash or has send into repair/bought it after sometime like June 21, 2010 which had the CB/CD patched.

Then why act like a dick because you don't like my opinion on the Xbox? Are you like a closet console user or something?

they print the manufacture date on the back
Xbox 360s WERE horrible but the slim eliminated almost all of the problems
My gripe is the MS points bollocks and paying for online.

You're just here to stir up shit aren't you? If so you should just leave, we don't need another console war thread.

you're a retard
you came into the thread and your first post was "the xbox is horrible"
what goes through your below average iq brain when you come up with something like that
Send it back to Microsoft and let them analyze why it hasn't RROD'd yet.
Someone must have used necromancy on the thing.

Its definitely out o warranty
I'm pretty sure the old ones were modifiable with something that Microsoft later circumvented with newer ones. So yeah, I think it could be, as long as everything about it works.
[editline]28th February 2012[/editline]
What Nsybouts said, I didn't know they weren't valuable anymore, if anything it should be worth more than in 2010.

Yeah, but if you RROD it you will get a free warranty. Just sayin. I did that with mine way back when and since MS wasn't aware of it they had to provide a free warranty to anyone that experienced it.
Newer xboxs still have numerous problems. They may have fixed RROD but the laser that reads the disks still breaks a shit load.
